This presentation shares a recipe for success–one that connects climate change, food justice, and youth agency–from teacher Andrew Margon’s food systems class at the High School for Environmental Studies in New York City, New York. The work was originally presented at the 2023 National Science Teaching Association conference.

The school uses sustainability as a unifying theme for their integrated, dynamic, student-centered curriculum. In recent years, Shelburne Farms educators have had the opportunity to support student projects and professional development for teachers.
