The Children's Farmyard (CFY) is an outdoor educational space that is open to the public and school groups. The goal of the CFY is to educate and connect visitors to agriculture in a safe, engaging, and hands-on environment. In partnership with the Farmyard Manager, you will provide care for the animals year-round, work as a farm-based educator, and help supervise seasonal farmyard staff. When the farmyard is closed for the season, you’ll focus on caring for the farmyard animals as well as supporting additional educational programs and events.

Working closely with the Communications team, you will implement our content strategy over its social media and website channels, and support the print needs of the organization across multiple departments, all to build the Shelburne Farms brand, elevate its nonprofit mission, cross-promote engagement, and enroll our many programs.

With guidance from the facility manager and as part of the Buildings & Landscape team, you’ll perform diversified duties to improve, repair, protect, and maintain campus facilities and equipment. This role is required to live on-site and housing is provided.

Assist the Buildings and Landscape team and Shelburne Farms with 24/7 coordination and support for day to day campus stewardship, operating systems, and services to advance the nonprofit’s mission and goals. This role is required to live on-site and housing is provided.
