Shelburne Farm Dairy Manager Sam Dixon will share how the organization is working toward our net-zero goal through strategies like silvopasture, riparian buffers, and introducing biochar onto fields. You’ll get an overview of our operation and rotational grazing practices, and then visit new silvopasture plantings to discuss the different processes for planting trees in pasture depending on your farm goals. Explore pastures with established trees for cows to use as shade and riparian buffers planted by the lake, and if time permits, discuss our biochar project, too.
