Elena is a part of the year-round cheesemaking team who transforms the milk of our wonderful cows into delicious cheese. She is passionate about climate justice, food equity, and strengthening the community by feeding Vermonters.
Before joining us, Elena developed educational programs about watershed health and facilitated volunteer clean ups as an Environmental Outreach Coordinator at SWWT in Milwaukee. She also spent time on a number of organic farms including a goat farm as a shepherd and cheesemaker.
While not making cheddar, Elena can be found reading a good book, making art, propagating plants, or climbing mountains with her dog, Lola.
