Position Title: Front Desk Attendant

Supervisor: Hospitality Director / Manager on Duty         

Employee Status: Seasonal, Part Time

Location: Onsite, Shelburne, VT 

Start & End Date:  April 26 -October 19, 2026 (required onboarding & training in late April and early May) 

Salary Range: $17 - $19/hr 

Work Schedule: AM & PM Shifts Available: 7:15AM - 3PM, 2:30PM - 10:30PM

Who We’re Looking for

We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Front Desk Attendant to join our team at the Shelburne Farms Inn. You are passionate about the Farm’s mission and committed to providing exceptional service to our guests. You will be the first point of contact for visitors at the inn, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience.

 

What You’ll Do

Guest Services

  • Welcome guests, checking them in and out of the Inn.

  • Provide general information about the Inn and Farm to guests.

  • Help to resolve guest service problems and make the guests visit as enjoyable as possible.

  • Answer Front Desk calls.

 

Operational Excellence & Sustainability Practices

  • Process room and inn gift store payments.

  • Maintain front desk log and phone messages log.

  • Communicate and collaborate with Guest Attendants, Housekeeping and Manager on Duty regarding guest needs.

  • Book dinner and breakfast reservations for guests.

  • Assist with guest-related paperwork and filing.

  • Coordinate with the housekeeping team when guests are checking in and out to ensure rooms are ready for arrival.

  • Run daily reports on the request of the Manager on Duty.

Mission Ambassador

  • Uphold the values and mission of Shelburne Farms in all interactions by welcoming all.

  • Share the story and work of Shelburne Farms with guests.

  • Share programs and activities that are happening all across the Farm, along with ways to engage in the Farm’s mission beyond programs or activities.

 

Core Qualifications

  • Prior guest service experience.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

 

Additional Valued Qualifications 

●        Hospitality and other relevant management experience preferred

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Available for a seasonally demanding work schedule.

  • Moving up and down 1 - 2 flights of stairs while carrying items weighing up to 40 lbs.

  • Working in settings with limited air conditioned work environments depending on the location.

  • Moving over uneven terrain.
