Location: On-site (Farm Barn at Shelburne Farms: 1611 Harbor Rd, Shelburne, VT 05482)
Work Schedule: 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday - Friday
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $23.00/hour

Who We’re Looking for
This position directly contributes to Shelburne Farms’ mission to inspire and cultivate learning for a sustainable future by providing administrative and clerical support to the fundraising operations at Shelburne Farms and clearly representing Shelburne Farms to the public. This position plays a key role in the Development Operations team, fulfilling each step of the gift entry and acknowledgement process.
What You’ll Do
- Data entry, including: all charitable gifts, program participants, various lists, updates to donor records, and other data maintenance functions
- Generating appropriate donor acknowledgements and membership cards
- Producing weekly donation reports.
- Digital and paper record-keeping for the entire Development department.
- Assisting with mailings.
- Communicating with members and visitors, including processing donations over the phone.
- Assisting with Shelburne Farms information at public events as needed.
Core Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and an aptitude for numbers and record keeping.
- Understanding of the role fundraising plays at Shelburne Farms and sensitivity to working with confidential donor information.
- Experience working with a relational database, Microsoft Suite, and Google Workspace.
- Comfort communicating with donors and visitors via phone, email, and in person.
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and a sense of humor with a willingness to be a team player.
- Proven ability to organize, manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
- Ability to be flexible and to adapt successfully to change.
Additional Valued Qualifications
- Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge and RE NXT preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Demands

Comfortable working in an open and busy office environment.

Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.

Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Majority of the day is sedentary however we have a standing desk available.

Sorting mail and moving incoming and outgoing packages.

Ascending/descending stairs (2 stairs for entrance to building).

Office temperature can vary during the year and does not have air conditioning for summer months.
